Raap is not a Skaap

These were her 2 entries for i-Jusi.

Last week, the lovely and crazy friend that is Michelle Raap got confirmation that her illustration has been accepted into the next issue of ‘i-Jusi’ magazine. Her artwork will be featured alongside other great South African artists like Anton Kannemeyer, Roger Ballam and Richard Hart. Tooooooo tooototoooo toto toooo – the sound of the vuvuzela that lives in my head.

For those not in the know, I-Jusi magazine is a South African art / design magazine started by Garth Walker from Juice design and now Mister Walker Design.

Now, not only has the Raapster landed herself in the up and coming issue of i-Jusi, she has also had another of her illustrations featured SA’s pop cultural mag ‘ One Small Seed’. Good beginnings I’d say.

Raap works with me at the Dog and Pony show, and it’s been a tumultuous ride for her what with untrained animals and developing a fear for heights. Slowly she is getting over the vertigo and is leaving the show & doing the thing she knows best, the crazy thing called art. Sigh and pause for a proud Mum moment here. Let’s hope she doesn’t lose an ear out there.

Good Luck Raap.

More on Raap artwork soon!
